Janaka Stucky

RECREATING A MIRACULOUS OBJECT

When I was a boy I was made
Entirely of salt

Silent with the silence of adoration
For what had come

Before me

Like a father

In the belly of a great whale
I lived in myself

Waiting to be
Illuminated by your arrival

At night I pray
For glaciers of salt

Now I wait
I have waited
I will wait

I eat your footsteps in my sleep
I wake from my animal dream a legend
