At the edge of a path
in this westernmost city
some sprawling pastel plant
I still don’t know the name of
wilts over an oval stone.
Fog from the coast
blue as a vein.
Tree frog jabber
thins thicket-dense shade.
Just enough―
enough noise
to confuse things into place.
