Quincy Rhoads

The Plum

Once, he ate a whole plum without finding a pit. He didn’t notice this until he brushed his teeth later that evening. As he spat, black jagged gnarls jingled into the sink. When he told his wife about this, she said, “That sounds like a metaphor.” But neither of them could discern its meaning.

Quincy Rhoads teaches English composition in Clarksville, TN, where he lives with his wife and son. His writing can be found online at HTMLGIANT, THE2NDHAND, and UNICORN KNIFE FIGHT.
